Intermediate (70' field) - open to 12 and 13-year-old boys & girls

Typically appropriate for children in: 6th - 7th - 8th grade

Prerequisite: players have 1-2 years of Majors experience

Intermediate baseball is available for youths aged 12 and 13. Players transition from the 60-foot diamond to the 70-foot diamond in a competitive environment.

Games are usually played against teams from other communities, such as Easthampton, Southampton, Belchertown, Amherst, Agawam and Longmeadow, and includes travel to these communities.

Home games are usually played at Florence Fields.

The Intermediate Division will provide a bridge in players' progression toward the full-sized diamond. This division will help to better prepare player's skills, mental and physical development to become better engaged in the game of baseball.

The Intermediate Division provides a game that more closely resembles “real” baseball, including rules regarding leading off bases, stealing and others that are in line with the sport on higher levels. For those players who are ready, it will allow players to be challenged and to play with and against like-minded players of similar ability in Northampton and our surrounding communities.

Requests for a child to be placed with a specific coach or another player cannot be honored.
However, siblings in the same division will be placed together.

Spring Training:
Will be used to determine the player's readiness for this division - players MUST attend

Players will be provided a
uniform top, hat and socks.
Parents are asked to purchase WHITE baseball pants.

NOTE: DIVISIONAL PLACEMENT IS EVALUATION BASED - NBSL makes all divisional placement decisions
